Certified Glatt Kosher beef jerky, and certified Glatt Kosher biltong, made in small batches in Ormond Beach, Florida. Almost no jerky sold in the US is kosher, usually because of the marinade rather than the meat. Everything here is certified from the beef to the finished bag, and all of it is meat, never pareve. Two kinds of kosher dried beef

Meat Candy is our jerky: real, whole sliced beef, not ground, reformed or mechanically separated, which is not a given in this category. Biltong is the South African way of drying beef, and the one to choose if you want it without the sugar. If someone has had neither, Meat Candy is the easier first bag and biltong is the more interesting one. Plenty of kosher households keep both.

Kosher beef jerky: quick answers

• Is it certified? Yes, Glatt Kosher, like everything we make. The certificates are published, so you can check them against your community's list.
• Meat or pareve? Meat. Keep it apart from dairy.
• Does it need refrigerating? No. Sealed bags keep three to six months in a cool, dry cupboard. Once opened, reseal and finish within a few days.
• Is most jerky kosher? No. Here is what to check on any bag, and why "kosher-style" means nothing.
• Where can I buy it in person? Kosher grocers in several states carry our products. Find a shop.
