Biltong serving size finder
A 3 oz bag is about two servings. Sealed bags keep three to six months; opened, finish within a few days.
Which format
- Minis (1 oz): one sitting, sealed until eaten. Lunchboxes, travel, trying a flavor.
- Sliced (3 oz): the everyday bag, about two servings.
- Bulk sliced (1 lb): the best price per ounce, for regular eaters and crowds. Split it into sealed portions when it arrives.
- Slab (1 lb, uncut): you slice it, thick or thin. Best on a board at a small table; holds up better over a long afternoon.
Storage
Sealed with an oxygen absorber, biltong keeps three to six months in a cool, dry cupboard. Once opened, reseal it and finish within a few days, or refrigerate. Check whether a bag is still good.
