What the checker looks at, and why
- The hechsher. An agency symbol is the difference between a claim and a certification. Where to find it.
- "Kosher-style." It means nothing.
- Fish in the marinade. Why Worcestershire rules out most jerky.
- The meat marking. Jerky is always meat.
- Your community's view of the agency. Standards vary, and that call is your rabbi's.
