Kosher Jerky for Shabbatons and Youth Groups
For a shabbaton, a youth-group trip or a teen convention, kosher jerky is one of the simplest ways to feed a crowd of teenagers between meals: certified, sealed, no kitchen, and nobody complains. Here is how much to order, how to hand it out, and what to check before you do.
Why it suits youth events
- Teenagers are always hungry. A protein snack between programs keeps the energy up.
- No kitchen or supervision needed. Useful when the shabbaton is in a host community's homes and shul.
- Certified Glatt Kosher, so it works for every participant.
- Nut-free. Our blends contain no nuts, which matters for group events.
How much
| Event | Per participant |
|---|---|
| A one-day program | One 1 oz mini |
| A Shabbos shabbaton | Two minis |
| A multi-day convention or trip | One mini per day |
For 60 teens on a shabbaton, about 120 minis. For larger events, talk to us and we will plan a batch around your date.
Handing it out
- Minis, not bowls. Sealed single portions are fairer and cleaner than a shared bowl with 60 hands in it.
- Welcome bags. A mini in each arrival bag is a good start.
- Bus snack. On the ride, one per participant.
- Opening on Shabbos. Many groups open packages or set out snacks before Shabbos. Ask your rav.
What to check
- Meat and dairy schedule. If Shabbos lunch is meat and seudah shlishit is dairy, time the jerky accordingly.
- Allergies. Collect them in advance, as for any food.
- Heat. Peri Peri has real heat; for a teen group, mostly Original and Meat Candy.
- Accepted hechsherim. Some organizations list accepted agencies. Check our certificates.
