Meat and dairy at the simcha
Jerky is meat. If the event or the kiddush is dairy, a favor bag of jerky handed out at the end is still fine to take home, but guests eating it on the spot will be eating meat. At a meat simcha, there is no issue. Label the bags so nobody is surprised.
Making it look like a favor
- Add a small printed tag with the child's name and date.
- Pair it with one other item: a water bottle, a kippah, a small game.
- Put it on top of the bag, not buried.
